Recently I stopped on the side of the road for a relief break. I happened to stop by a culvert. It was one o'clock in the afternoon and the air temperature was around 90 degrees and the ground temperature was about 115 degrees. It had been years since I had looked into a culvert, so I decided to see what was there. This is what I found. The smaller snake is a female Mojave rattlesnake, the larger one is a diamondback. The Mojave is about 32 inches long, so you can get an idea of the size of the diamondback.
You never know where you are going to find snakes.
