Red Bluff is an arroyo situated about two miles south of the rest area south of Loma Alta. The arroyo walls are excellent habitat for most of the snakes in the area, and the arroyo acts to funnel them onto the road.
In this area the road has shoulders and is mostly wide two lane. The rock cuts occur on both sides of the road. This is a good area for walking the cuts. Alterna is probably the most prevalent snake in the area but, as in all areas, is not commonly seen.
