CREVICE SPINY LIZARD
Sceloporus poinsettii poinsettii

Crevice spiny lizards are found througout the Trans Pecos area. They are a large spiny lizard, reaching sizes of about twelve inches in length.

Poinsettii are sometimes found at night hanging on the rocks or, rarely, on the roads. More often what is seen of them is the banded tail hanging out from the rock they are hiding under. During the day they are frequently found basking on the rocks.
